The word on the street is that eBooks aren't worth creating and that there is no money in them. I'm not on that band wagon and within this article I am going to lay out a few reason why you should be creating eBooks to act as a lead generation tool and increast your online traffic.
So why should you be creating eBooks?
Number one, people are going to visit your website if you ever give that eBook away.
But number two, if they come to your website, they are looking for information. If you have an eBook there that covers the information that they're looking for, number one, you're already set up in their mind.
Here's a quick example. Very recently, about almost a year ago, I was the best man in a wedding. I knew nothing about being a best man.
One of the things that I was doing online was scouring the Internet of things that I should be doing as a best man, because I had no clue. I was going to all kinds of websites trying to piece all this information together, when I know for a fact that had there been an eBook that basically created a step by step process of what I needed to do in order to be a best man, I would have bought it.
How can I say I actually would have purchased it? Well, in the past I have bought similar eBooks on different topics I was looking for more information on and has outlined the procedure clearly.
There were two reasons why I bought these books, firstly because I was searching for the information. Secondly, the information I was looking for was nicely packaged together in a step by step procedure.
The next reason why you should be creating an eBook is that within the pages of it you can advertise you own products and services.
You should be thinking of your products acting like a funnel. This is what we call the marketing funnel. Your eBook would be at the top of the funnel and further down are your higher priced products.
Your eBooks are going to work as tools that will demonstrate to your costumers the value you can provide and build up trust with them so they are more willing to buy your products that are of higher price.
When people know, like and trust someone they are more likely to buy products from them, especially when they provide valuable information. An eBook is your way to show how much value you can provide.
You are creating an introductory product in which you can then introduce your other higher-priced products and services within. If people want to take the next step you have giving them the opportunity to do so.
Your eBook becomes a platform to advertise your other services and products.
One thing you do have to remember and I want to make this clear is that you don't want to make your eBook just one big sales pitch. Always make sure you are providing value in the eBook because it is your reputation that is on the line. Costumers or clients will be viewing that eBook to what value you can add to their business.
It's like this article you are reading right now. I want all of you to purchase my other products, come to my seminar, to work closer with me. But in order to do that, I know that I've got to gain your trust and I've got to demonstrate the value of the information that I have and can provide to you.
One way I try do to that is by providing free articles, like this one and put as much information as I can so it makes you want to read more of my articles and buy my products.
You should apply this to your eBooks and take the same philosophy. Pack as much information into your eBooks as possible while mentioning your other products and services. Be careful not to make it one big sales pitch, or people will be won't want to continue and are less likely to purchase anything else from you.
It provides a platform to introduce your other products or services and that is a great reason why you should be creating an eBook.
Ideas will come to you when you explore the possibilities of creativity!
