In Dan Kennedy's information marketing course Brian McElroy reveals his secret to making $500,000 in 18 months loving his life on the beach in Rio de Janeiro. Brian has money, time and health, thanks to information marketing.
Brian doesn't think he is genius. "You have to hook up with people who are highly successful and start working with them", he said.
Rob Toth interviewed Brian in conjunction with the Info Riches course as Dan Kennedy's partner. Rob interviewed several highly successful information marketers as part of a course called "Future Of Information Marketing". Each interview provided some great insights into what it takes be successful. I have summarized some of the articles but you can get the whole course for yourself for FREE for a limited time.
Rob discovered Brians secret to succeeding wildly in a short period of time during the interview. Like so many others, Brian had been buying courses upon courses and not doing anything with them. People buy all these expensive courses and don't even open the book or watch the videos.
"You have to start working with highly successful people so you can learn their business model" said Brian. With all the information out there people have so many choices of how to start a business. Choice can be a good thing to help find what works for your temperament and lifestyle, but more often than not it becomes a distraction. You have to work with someone to avoid information overload.
You need to "align with them...partner with them, get on their mentoring programs..." said Brian. If you start working with someone and "provide a highly valued service to them you will build up your contacts."
One of the biggest challenges for Brian was time management. He was working in a job and could never really find any time to put into building a business. Finally, he decided to concentrate on getting organized. He took several courses on time management and really studied it. "People have too much going on in their life. They don't have time to take on a new project", said Brian. With this in mind, he started to eliminate things from his life that were eating away at his time. "You have to focus on one project at a time and make it successful before you move on to the next."
Brian says that once you have yourself organized you can "then focus on providing value to your mentors". This was Brian's secret: First get organized personally, then find any excuse you can to work with or for highly successful information marketers.
Now that he has achieved success he is happy with "living on the beach in Rio de Janeiro, living the Internet lifestyle." His decision to follow a "rigorous schedule" really paid off.
