Answering Emails Is Vital To An eBay Business

By Richard Joyce

I'm constantly amazed of the amount of eBay sellers who can't be bothered to return a simple e-mail. It takes them a week to do s, and they wonder why their eBay business is struggling to make any sales.

To put it frankly. do not even bother even thinking about starting an eBay business if this sounds like something you would do. Believe me, you have zero chance of success.

Some people treat business emails, like they do personal emails. Personal emails can wait. That's what yahoo and hotmail accounts are for.

But if you are at your at your house or work address and you receive an email regarding your business, drop whatever you're doing. People are always pleased when somebody returns their email within 10 minutes.

Doing this shows great professionalism. It also shows that truly care about their question or the problem they might be having.

The thing that most amazes me are the sellers who don't respond after somebody basically tells them that they will buy their product. They just have one small question about it.

Let's say someone emails you asking about if they bought two separate products from you, what would the total shipping cost be? He is basically say I want this! All you have to do is simply answer it. Not tomorrow. Not a couple hours from now or when you feel like it. Answer it now while the customer is in a buying frame of mind.

This also works great when you have customer who is unhappy. Let's say you accidently sent the wrong item out to a buyer. He sends a really nasty email showing his dissatisfaction.

The real horrible sellers on eBay would put off answering the email. Either they'd wait a couple of days or some wouldn't even bother replying because they don't want to deal with it. But I can guarantee you, if you answer that email as soon you finish reading it, the buyer will always calm down and you can communicate in a much more civil way.
