How Can I Find Articles for My Website and Blog?

By Nicole Dean

As a website or blog owner, you may realize that, on the web, content is king (or queen). You must have content to publish on your website, even more articles for your ezine or newsletter, content to create free reports or even an ebook that you plan to sell. Plus, you need articles in order to do article marketing. Geesh. That's a lot of content! I'm sure you have better things to do than be tied to your PC all day and night, writing yourself into a frenzy. I know I do. Luckily, I have some ideas to help you save time and money to get it.

But, first, why is content so important? Here are a few reasons...

First, search engines love information. The more quality pages that you have on your website, the better. Google eats it up, so keep adding more "real estate" to your website by adding pages of great content.

Second, content adds value to your website visitors. They search the internet and come to your website to find information. If you offer great info, they're more likely to tell a friend about your site, link to you from their site, and stumbleupon your site.

Third, quality content establishes you as an expert in your field. If you're writing and sharing great information, people will begin to look at you as their "go to" person for information on that topic. You're reading this article right now, aren't you?

Where do you find articles for your website or blog? You have many choices, and each has its benefits and drawbacks.

1. Write the content yourself. This is a wonderful option for some of your content. You can choose to write some of it yourself. However, there are options below that will enable you to attract quality content to your website without having to write all of it yourself. (Some you can just edit and use.) Using a mixture of the options will provide you with more freedom to grow without feeling trapped to your PC all day.

2. Get a Great Writer. A ghostwriter is a freelancer who writes for you but you take the credit. There are many sites on the web where you can find frelancers. Start by searching google.com, or go to sites like elance.com or shelancers.com to look around. Most biographies are written by ghostwriters. Almost every politician on the planet uses a speech writer. When time is short, get a ghostwriter to give your project a quick boost.

3. Team up. Either through networking or word of mouth, find other online business owners who would like to become columnists for your website. If they are in a non-competing but related business, you can both benefit from this type of partnership. Your buddy will get free advertising and you'll receive unique content.

4. Hit the Article Directories. Places like EzineArticles.com, Isnare.com and FreeAffiliateArticles.com are packed with quality articles that you can reprint on your website or blog, as long as you remember to include the author bio at the end. For instance, look at the bottom of this article -- it's free and you can publish it on your website as long as you include that blurb.

5. Buy PLR content. PLR stands for Private Label Rights and it is content that you can edit freely, add your name to it, and publish it on your website or in your ezine without having to link back to anyone. The only thing with PLR is that you have to be careful to find a reputable PLR site that is offering quality content that has been professionally written and edited. If the content is sold in limited quantities, even better. Beware of fly-by-night PLR service. Try to find one that has been around for awhile and has an owner who stands by it. PLR content is affordable and flexible -- two things that a busy internet marketer need for their business.

Now that you're aware of some of the options to getting more content quickly, I hope you take advantage of these tips. It is possible to experience more freedom from your business and, at the same time, more income. My wish for you is to work smarter, not harder -- and watch your internet business grow!
