Selling Your Brand Message With Promotional Gifts

By Montgomery Preston

As a business owner, brand recognition is one concept that you should entertain. When someone recognises your brand, chances are they will shop at your store over something they don't recognize, unless of course you have offered a negative recognition. In other words, the image you promote is essential to your business. You want to offer business gifts that represent a positive brand recognition.

The particular venue where you are planning to give away the gifts will likely have an effect on your gift choice. Larger tradeshows where thousands may be attending could get expensive, so you may want to choose something less expensive.

When deciding what promotional items to distribute, make sure they are functional. Useless items will be tossed aside and never looked at again. At a tradeshow, you may offer small functional gifts such as a keyring, a mouse mat, or even a pen as a business gift. These will be warmly received and likely will be used long after the tradeshow has ended.

Even when you are using less expensive business gifts, they should have a point to them. Keyrings at tradeshows are a hit because they are inexpensive, useful, and definitely have the ability to provide brand recognition.

An advantage to giving inexpensive gifts like pens or keyrings is that the customers can take several instead of one. That is something you should not discourage, because it shows that they like your product and have intent to use it. So choose wisely when you are planning your next tradeshow event and you'll likely see a positive result of your brand recognition efforts for a long time.
