Indoor Tanning And The Power Of Exfoliating

By Betty P Davis

Indoor tanning allows a person to get the gorgeous tan they want in less time than outdoors. It fits well into every schedule and you can go tanning even when the weather isn't cooperating. If you want to get a great looking tan in the least amount of time from it though you need to take the time to exfoliate.

Your skin will absorb more of the UV rays when you do so. It will also help you to develop a nice base tan. When you fail to exfoliate though you end up with dry flaky skin that will come off when you shower or as you go about your day. Since this is the outer layer that is what the tan color will be on. When that skin comes off, you won't have the same glow underneath.

It is important to have a very good soap that you use to exfoliate with as well. If it doesn't contain quality ingredients then you won't get wonderful results. You want to avoid those that have fragrances with them. While they will smell nice they are also going to dry out your skin. This is the opposite effect of what you should be aiming for.

It is better to use liquid soap than it is to use a bar of soap though. Make sure you have the right equipment to exfoliate your skin properly. This can be a wash rag or a loofa, which ever one you prefer. You need to make sure it is clean though so you aren't spreading germs and bacteria to your skin.

Left over soap on your body is something you need to avoid as well. If you aren't rinsing off as well as you should then take more time to do so. That left over soap is going to affect your ability to get the best possible tan. It is going to block the UV rays or the sunless tanning spray from getting to your skin like it could. Just a few extra moments to rinse off can prevent this scenario from happening.

How do you dry your body off after you shower? If you quickly wipe all the excess water off with a towel then you need to make some changes here as well. When you exfoliate it leaves the skin below vulnerable. So when you roughly dry it off you damage it. To protect it, slowly pat it dry and you will keep it looking and feeling great. You also need to remember to drink a significant amount of water each day.

Generously apply a good lotion with moisturizers in it to you skin. This will help to lock in the moisture after you have exfoliated. It will allow you to keep the benefits of it longer. You will definitely notice the different results you get when you use indoor tanning products and equipment.

If you plan to get a great indoor tan, then you need to make sure you exfoliate your skin properly. If you don't exfoliate then you can't benefit from the results you wanted to have. This one simple process can make the difference between getting a decent tan from the salon and one that is okay but you aren't impressed with.
